After School Clubs at the 916 Ink Imaginarium

916 Ink hosts semester-long creative writing clubs in our whimsical classroom, The Imaginarium, located in the Maple Neighborhood Center campus (formerly Maple Elementary School) in South Sacramento. Word Squad and Author’s Lab are after-school workshops where students can engage playfully and thoughtfully in creative writing. Every participating student has the opportunity to publish writing in an annual anthology of student work.

  • Students will…

  • Learn to write poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction.

  • Learn to give and receive positive feedback and encouragement.

  • Polish, edit, and revise work for publication.

  • Become a published author in a professional 916 Ink anthology

  • Practice public speaking skills in front of friends and family at a book release and reading party.

See below for more details.
