Silent Auction: Four One-of-a-Kind Packages

A Book of One's Own (1).png

A Book of One’s Own

916 Ink co-founder Katie McCleary will lead you and 9 guests on a 3-hour generative writing journey. We’ll then will work with you and your guests to get 1-2 pieces of writing per person into publication shape. The process will culminate in a professionally published anthology of your very own! Each guest will receive 2 copies, an 11x17 print of the book cover, and an e-book. See your own name and work in print, and commemorate a special evening with your nearest and dearest - or collect your friends to go in on this together!

Much Ado About Naming.png

Much Ado About Naming

Ever fantasized about seeing yourself (or someone you love) reflected as a character in a novel? Acclaimed author of Copy Boy, Shelley Blanton-Stroud, will allow the winner the opportunity to customize a character in her next novel! You pick the name and defining characteristics, and celebrate with 4-6 friends with a private (and socially distant) beer tasting at Big Stump Brewing Company in Midtown Sacramento. To sweeten the night, you and your friends will each go home with a signed copy of Blanton-Stroud's current novel and a keepsake 916 Ink anthology.

Sisterhood of the Traveling Paints.png

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Paints

Not just for the sisterhood, but we will indeed travel to you. We will deliver all supplies for a literary-themed, socially distant paint & sip party for up to 10 people. Each Sacramento-area guest will receive a bottle of wine, a 916 Ink wine glass, and the painting supplies for the party (canvas, paints, and brushes). We will hold a 3-hour online class over Zoom where we give live instruction on a book-themed painting, with lots of time for socializing as well! Enjoy a very special evening with your loved ones and create a beautiful keepsake.

The Not-Neverending Story

Do you have a work-in-progress that could use a fresh eye? The winner of this item will work with Developmental Editor Kristen Weber to get their own neverending story into shape! Note: The work has to be submitted by December 1, 2020, can be fiction or creative non-fiction, and should be less than 2,000 words. The entire editing process must be completed by January 30, 2021.
