This year 916 Ink will offer both in-person and virtual camp options

SIGNING UP FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK OF CAMP IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

Tuition for each camp is $250 per student

Scholarships are available based on location and household income. Begin registration process to find out if you may qualify

In-Person Camps

Schedule: Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 pm (Lunch from 12:00 pm-1:00 pm)

  • Week 1: June 27th - July 1st (3rd to 5th Grade) -FULL

  • Week 2: July 11th - July 15th (3rd to 5th Grade) - FULL

  • Week 3: July 25th - July 29th (6th to 8th Grade) - FULL

In week-long creative writing summer camps, students will write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction with 916 Ink staff and guest artists! They will engage in 5 days of workshop sessions with fellow writers, learning to engage playfully with language. Each day will include writing prompts and activities to empower these young writers to tell their own story. Local guest artists will also visit to engage students in new storytelling methods, incorporating fine arts, music, hip-hop rhymes, spoken word, and more.

Virtual Sessions

Schedule: Monday to Friday 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 pm (Offline Lunch from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm)

Week 1: July 11th - July 15th (6th to 8th Grade) - FULL

Week 2: July 18th - July 22nd (3rd to 5th Grade) - FULL

In this virtual creative writing summer camp, students will write fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction with 916 Ink staff and guest artists! They will engage in a virtual workshop with fellow writers, learning to engage playfully with language. Each session will include writing prompts and activities to empower these young writers to tell their own story. Prompts will be introduced in a variety of ways, including using items from participants’ own homes and collaborative prompts using Zoom’s chat feature. Guest artists will also instruct participants in various activities such as spoken word, rhyme activities, and word games!
